How did Restaurants start?

 Restaurant is a place where people have something to eat and drink.People also do get together parties in a restaurant.There are some histories behind the starting of the restaurants.

In the 12th century,there were cook shops in London.The chief business of these cook shops was the sale of cooked meats which customers carried away with them,Sometimes a cook shop served meals like a restaurant.

There was a tavern in England where meal was served everyday at a fixed hour.They offered a good dinner with wine and other extras.It was the first place where food was served in this way.

In 1765, a man named Boulanger opened a place in Paris.The place served meals and refreshments.It was the main purpose.Boulanger gave a name to his place and that was "Restaurant".He was the first person who used this word.It was a great success

The famous Shakespeare liked the arrangements of the restaurants.He used to be a regular customer of the Mermaid Tavern in London.

France also opened some restaurants.The first restaurant in the United States was opened in 1683.It was known as Blue Anchor Tavern.

So,these are the histories behind the starting of restaurants.
